Thanksgiving!

Jeremy and Heidi's family came into town for Thanksgiving this year.  They were here for an entire week and it was so much fun to have them here.  Their kids are older and so it was fun to be able to sit and hang out with them; we watched hallmark, talked about books, painted nails and played games.  Elizabeth loved playing with all of them (with less people than at the reunion she was really able to play with them without getting overwhelmed); she especially liked dancing with Eli and dragging Sam around on her every whim.
Wednesday= Pie Making Day!!
Thanksgiving morning, Elizabeth and I made a Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie.

Thanksgiving day was great. The turkey was so tender that it fell off the bones; I have never seen that happen before but it saved up the trouble of carving it.  Our neighbors, the Woods, came for dinner and it was nice having them.  Sam, and everyone who knew it, performed their Thanksgiving Turkey song; it was pretty funny. We had 16 delicious pies (yes, we were one over this year) and spent the evening lounging around, doing puzzles and watching movies.
This is a picture of the turkey right when we took it out... it melted.

Elizabeth stuck her finger in everything, to try it, and then ended up eating 3 servings of green bean casserole.

Thanksgiving night, while we were watching a movie, Elizabeth climbed in between two boxes and I slowly started handing her toys through the crack.  She got so many toys in there that I she was completely covered; I stuck the camera in to see her and I just have to say, she is adorable!!

On Saturday we went to Denver for Clayton Turner's baptism.  It was fun to see all of the Arizona Stones who came into town for it.  Mom and Dad then took Elizabeth so that Ben and I could do to the temple, while we were down in Denver. We did sealing's and it was a fantastic experience; our sealer was awesome and would teach us and talk to us between couples.  On Sunday we went to my parents house for a Thanksgiving with Sean and Heather.  The food was delicious and it was great to catch up with Sean.

We are so grateful for our family and the love they bring into our lives.  We are also so grateful for the gospel and the knowledge that we can be together with our families forever.

Thankful Turkey!

Growing up, every Thanksgiving, we would sit around and each name things we were thankful for as we filled up the feathers of a family drawn turkey.  It would often take a long time and the things we were thankful for ended up being the things we could see in the room.

This year I decided to make an October Thankful Turkey.  I made it and hung it up the 1st of October and each day we write some things we are thankful for.  Anyone who visits our house also get's to add to the turkey.  It is wonderful to see and constantly be reminded of what we are thankful for; and interesting to see the things that are accidentally on there multiple times.

Thanksgiving Morning- before taking it to Thanskgiving Dinner

Here is our final Thankful Turkey.  I am so grateful that we were able to do this this year and fill our holiday with thanks.  Every day I still think of things that I am thankful for and I am grateful that I have started living with more gratitude.

Favorite Sweater!

10/7- A family in our ward got this sweater at the thrift store and said that the moment they saw it they just had to get it for Elizabeth. I didn't initially think it was that cute but Elizabeth LOVES IT!! (And it is adorable on her) She has warn it for the past three days straight (not just when we go outside) and even insists on wearing it to bed (I can sometimes get her out of it for meals, so it doesn't get messy, and she relents on the bathtub). Thank you Peck family for this treasure!!

October Photo Journal!

Welcome October! Witches hat and shorts! (9/28)
10/2- With the babies, this looks like it should say ‪#‎morningsickness.
She's just checking out her accomplishment!
10/2- Elizabeth stuck her foot in a tub of hummus.
I guess that's what I get for having us eat a snack on the couch!
10/3/2014- Making Sugar Cookies- she loved rolling out and
cutting out the cookies but didn't really like frosting them (weird).
10/7- She is the block queen! She loves it!
10/13- I don't know why but Elizabeth likes Q-Tips. She stole them from the bathroom
and put them in herself (no I don't usually let her do this, I just thought it was funny.)
10/20- Elizabeth likes to vacuum but on this day she did it a bit grudgingly because she was vacuuming up some crackers that she dumped on the floor.
A HUGE pumpkin growing on the side of the path that we walk to the Library.
10/16- While at the park on Thursday I looked at Elizabeth and
decided that last years winter clothes are too small- haha.
She is now in Gwyn's cute winter clothes (a bit big but much more modest)
Elizabeth got a little table from the Newson's neighbors, Chriest's, and we have been having constant tea parties.
10/17-  I made cookies, so we had a real tea party with milk and cookies (usually it's just make believe). And Elizabeth's chocolate covered face.
10/20- She had a tea party underneath the table and I found her just sitting there upside down- I watched her for almost 5 minutes before I took the picture. I have no idea what she was doing.

10/20- Elizabeth has started coloring things on purpose.
I love seeing her develop and grow. She fully laid on the table yesterday while coloring.

10/28- While helping prepare dinner Elizabeth decided
to just eat the cheese- straight from the block!
Elizabeth climbed onto a friends lap during sacrament meeting-
this is how they entertained each other.

Selfies!

This might seem a little egotistical but I love to take selfies with my mini me!  We have a screen on the front of our camera and it is fun to take pictures together!! I just love Elizabeth!

Halloween! Yeee-haw!!

Elizabeth was a cowgirl for Halloween; Mom made her costume and it was adorable.  She learned the appropriate "yeehaw" so she was able to show off her costume.  We were out of town (at Vampire Weekend) for our trunk-or-treat but Mom took her to theirs and she had a good time.  We then filled our week with fun Halloween stuff.

Monday night, we went to a Halloween Party at the YMCA.  It was crazy, there were a ton of people there, but it was so fun to see all the costumes and play the games.  There was a room of carnival games that the kids got to play, the gym had bouncy castles (a big one and a small one for the  younger kids-yay) and there was a glow-in-the-dark room with more carnival games, a dance party and a string obstacle course.  There were other activities but by the end we were all tired out.

Friday (Halloween) morning we went to a Halloween Party at the Library.  I thought it started at 10:30, so we rushed over there after going to the gym, but it didn't start until 11:30 (ugg).  I was going to leave but Elizabeth got distracted by a train set and puzzles, so we ended up staying and waiting.  There were a lot of people at this also (80 kids) and we sang songs/danced, read scary books, did a craft and went trick or treating through the library.  It was fun and I think it got Elizabeth excited for trick or treating.

That afternoon we went and got Ben from work and we all went to Pearl Street in Boulder.  Pearl Street has a special trick-or-treating event, where all the stores give out candy.  It was WAY busier that we expected but it was so much fun.  Elizabeth really got into the trick-or-treating, although it always just came out as "Treat!," and was funny because she would stand and inspect (I think in aww) all the candy before she put it in her pumpkin. Sometimes she would get to pick the candy out of the bowl herself and she would contemplate and then, almost always, pick the kind of candy that she couldn't eat (jolly ranchers/ Gobstopers); by next year, I will have to train her to get the chocolate!

Pearl Street took a lot longer than we had anticipated, so we were not able to go trick-or-treating with friends, so we stopped in Boulder to get food.  Where sounded good? IHOP.  We find that we crave IHOP on occasion and during/after always wonder why.  Here Elizabeth sat on the table and covered her skirt in ketchup (I was thankfully able to wash it out in the sink). We then headed home, with one stop at a member's house in our ward that make scones in their garage.  By this time it was 7 and Elizabeth was beat but I wanted to trick or treat a little bit of our neighborhood so I drug her (actually it ended up me carrying her) to some houses in our neighborhood.  We live in a neighborhood with a lot of older people and there are not a lot of kids (aka trick-or-treaters); so many of the houses were dark/not passing out candy and the other ones were giving away handfuls to get rid of all the extra candy they bought.  At the end, I begged Ben to let us go to one more house and it was an older gentleman.  He said it was late and he was going to bed (it was about 7:30 by this time) and so he had to give away his candy.  He gave Elizabeth a piece of candy and then gave us 5 full sized hersey's bars! I was so excited, it was a good way to end the night!

We went home, quickly got Elizabeth bathed and ready for bed, changed into our costumes and headed out the door to go to some friends Halloween Party.  It was a long drive but it was fun to see our friends, the Andersons (who we had not seen in a long time), and we got to play/learn some fun new games.

It was a fun Halloween and we have decided that all Holidays are made more fun with Elizabeth!!
