Pregnancy Updates and Preparing for Baby #2

May 15-29 Weeks

June 23- 34 Weeks
On June 9,  I  had my 33 week check up and had an ultra sound to check my placenta for placenta previa. The placenta has moved out of the way and our little guy is head down. He is about 4 1/2lbs now, so the Doctor is guessing he will be around 8. In the picture he is squished, but you can see his hands up by his face and then his legs scrunched up.
At Stones Family Picture Shoot- 37 Weeks (July 10)
With Elizabeth I was 9 months pregnant in the winter and it was uncomfortable but bearable but in the summer, it was just hot.  But in general I felt pretty good.  I was still exercising 3-4 days a week, didn't have the pregnancy waddle and was doing okay.  While I was dying of heat, and basically an inactive blob, Elizabeth would relax and watch TV in my belly.  Why not? It was a built in pillow. (6/29/15)

I got a nasty head cold at 39 weeks and wasn't aloud to take any over the counter medications; so the pharmacist concocted a couple of 'safe' medicines that I could take for my symptoms.  It seemed a little weird to take so much, instead of one pill, but it was safer for the baby and helped me feel better.

I really wanted to have the baby early, so that Andrea could meet him before leaving. We tried lots of exercise (walking and walking), eating spicy food and I even got my membranes stripped but with no avail.  My doctor went out of town, so we were sure it would happen while he was gone.  After they left, and I had no baby, I was really sad and depressed.  Ben quickly reminded me that it would happen and I had to be patient.  We set an induction date, because Elizabeth was late, for August 4 and I tried to wait patiently.

I tried to plan fun or active things to do the week that I was due so that I wouldn't focus too much on my lack of baby. On Monday, I exercised, completely cleaned our house top to bottom, did all the laundry, we went out to dinner with our friends the Larsen's (who moved to Texas) and still didn't have the baby. On Tuesday, my due date (July 28), I exercised (that was a sad day), went to see the Doctor (no progress) and that afternoon I went and helped my friend (the Larsen's) clean their  appartment for their move.
Going to exercise- DUE DATE!!
On Wednesday (40 weeks and 1 day), I decided to skip the exercise and Elizabeth and I went to my Mom's house to help her paint her floor boards. I got down and taped the bathroom but didn't tape any more because the tape wasn't working. The rest of the week we had the library story time, a day at the museum, swimming and so much more planned but I didn't get to any of those activities because on Wednesday I went into labor!!

I am going to leave it as a cliff hanger, so you have to read more......

Baby Moon

While the Dawson's were in town we decided to have a Baby Moon before #2 entered out lives. We left Elizabeth at Nana's house over night and had a wonderful date (July 17-18).  We decided to do somethings that we wouldn't usually do, which was limited because I was pregnant, and we had so much fun.

We started the date off with miniature golf and milk shakes (it was super hot).  The miniature golf place was awesome and had fun themed courses; we opted for the haunted course.  We had heard that the balance and weight distribution of pregnancy makes women better at golf and we proved it correct.  I BEAT BEN; this is a first for me and I wont deny that I rubbed it in a little bit.

After miniature golf we went into Denver to the Adams Mystery Playhouse for a mystery dinner.  It was a cruise theme, so we were all to wear cruise attire, and the whole place (which usually looks scary, like a haunted house) was decorated in cruise-ish stuff.  We were a little hesitant that it was going to be a lame experience but we were happily proved wrong.

It started with cocktails and guest mingling, at which time they had clues throughout the house to give the guests a better guess at the ending.  We then went into the dining hall where we played bingo, very cruise-ish, and had a delicious dinner.  After this the show began with a little music performed by the cruise musician who later was murdered! They then tried to figure out who did it through performances, dating game shows, conga lines and so much more.  The actors were so funny and the whole night was filled with laughing (almost to tears), audience participation and murder! We had so much fun and loved it.

We were planning on going to a hotel for the night but decided to save the money and go home, without a child. We snuggled in with junk food and a movie and both quickly fell asleep.  The next morning we slept in until 8, Elizabeth has ruined our college lifestyles, and then went out to breakfast. We went to Snooze, a fancy breakfast place in Boulder, and then walked around Pearl Street.  It was so laid back and fun to just be together.  But I have to admit it was weird not having Elizabeth and we were glad when she came home!
