Artsy Craft Bug!

I am proud to say that I have semi- revived a little bit of 'craftsy' in my life. This month I have been helping with a baby shower and volunteered to do decorations; so I went to the craft store and got more than I expected but I have had a lot of fun!

Although I was supposed to be focused on the baby shower I first decided to make a 'spring' wreath for our door.  Here is some of the inspiration that I found from pinterest. I made some felt flowers and modge podged the N for our door.  It is not exactly 'right' but I like it!

Mom and Dad made some homemade chalk boards and I painted the frames for the baby shower- they turned out cute.  For the shower I painted some bird houses with a LOT of help from Mom.  I first tried to crackle paint them but with Mom's help we made some cute houses.

I saw some adorable birds on pinterest and enlisted Mom, Nedra and Rachel to help me.  They were very cute and fun to make!

I have also been making some Mini Pom Poms for a spring garland but I am not done with those yet...

All these crafts have a double use, here is all my new 'spring' stuff up in our house:

The baby shower went very well.  The theme was "Hatching Soon" and we did a brunch with muffins, fruit and german pancake 'nests'.  We had some cute game stations and a quilt was being tied for the Mom-to-Be.  Here are some pictures:

We ended up adding labels to the different muffins!

Dancing Queen

Elizabeth LOVES to DANCE!! She will come ask me to put on music so she can dance and her moves are starting to evolve into more than just arms.  She is just so adorable!

Little Mischief Minion

Elizabeth has started being more mischievous!  I would like to think that I am not a bad, not paying attention, Mom and so I must say- she is very fast and sneaky! Here are just a few of her resent impish quests:

Emptied an entire bag of diapers in the living room. But she then brought me each diaper one by one- that was nice!
Emptied the all the Kleenex...

I was in the bathroom and she grabbed the toilet paper and ran.... by the time I caught up with her she had shredded it and was hiding in the corner! Obviously by the smiles, she was not too overcome by guilt!! (2/27/2014)

"Who ME??"

February Visitors!

Tobin came to visit the week of Feb 14-Feb 21.  It was so fun to see him and spend time with him.  While Tobin was here we had some great game nights (Shanghi and Settlers of Catan) and we let him win! The Monday he was here was President's Day, so Ben didn't have to work.  Ben and Tobin went golfing in the morning (of course) and in the afternoon we all went bowling.  Elizabeth sat with Grandma while the rest of us bowled; Ron didn't believe me when I said I was really bad but by the end of the first game I think he was starting to be a believer.  The kids thought it was cool and by the end they were trying to bowl without the ball shoot.  I haven't been bowling in a long time and it was really fun!

The next week (Feb 21- Feb 24), Taylor and Page came to visit.  On the 21st we celebrated Aaron's birthday at Mom and Dad's house with his favorite, key lime pie.  Saturday the entire family got together to celebrate our February Birthday's (Rich, Elizabeth, Alice, Andrea, Aaron and Deanna)!  It was fun to have everyone there and to see Page play with her cousins.  The kids all LOVE Andrew and he is such a good sport.  We had a dance party and a kid party in the bathtub.  Monday everyone came to our house and we went to the park; it was a beautiful day (we flew a kite) and so wonderful to be outside!  We LOVED having Taylor and Page here!

Pink Baby Toes

When Elizabeth was first born I loved looking at her tiny little feet but Ben said I could not paint her toes until she turned one. Well.... she turned one! And it's soooo cute!
