I know I post about every storm we have, I can't help it it's exciting, but this one really was amazing. In Louisville we easily had 18 inches, maybe even more, in just two days. It just snowed steady, not too hard, for two days straight- it was beautiful.
Dad found these statistics about it.
When I was shoveling I ran out to the middle of the yard and made a snow angel; then, not having thought the plan through, I was stuck in the snow because it was so deep. I ended up rolling to my knees and...well the angel didn't look great.
My snow...creature! |
I wanted to show how deep it was but it just blurred out. You can kind of see! |
That afternoon I sat on our couch watching the snow when I saw the funniest thing. I wrote about it on facebook (although that is very strange I just wanted to share my pleasure with someone) this is what I wrote.
A man is walking with his daughter and her friends in front of our house. The girls have stopped to climb the piles of snow, created from the shoveling, by our driveway. They are pretending they are on top of the world and they are crawling through the snow on their stomachs. The dad keeps checking his watch and telling them it's time to go. I can hear their laughter and giggles from inside. This is soo cute! One of the girls just stepped waist high in the snow and came out without a boot. Dad is currently digging for it... another girl lost a boot- I can not stop laughing. This is better than prime time.
And as my slightly creepy stalking continued- I took a video (it is kind of hard to see because of the window screen). Seriously this does not even start to show how adorable this was.
So, I love the snow. I love the beauty and cleanliness it brings. I love the childlike joy it can bring to our lives.
