For a couple years Ben has been toying with the idea of
going back to school for his MBA. He
likes his job and is not necessarily looking to make more money but he has
always felt like he should. It seems
like it will be a good thing to have with his future (old and retired) goals.
He has been studying for the GMAT (Grad School Test) and
finally decided to just take the plunge and take it. He took it in October and did not do so great. He studied and took it again in March and
again, didn't get as good a score as he wanted.
A little downtrodden we still decided to start the application process
and see how he did.
He got into the night program at the Leeds School of
Business at the University of Colorado (CU).
YAY!! Ben has always loved CU and now he can legitimately root for their
sports teams and say he is actually "a Buff." He started school on Monday May 9 and will be
taking classes in the evenings for two years STRAIGHT. Yeah, because it is only at night they do not
take a semester off. He says that it is
going to be hard and "the people are really smart" but he is excited.
He can't remember his 'study' skills, so he is a little nervous about the test
portion, but he has a lot of practical business experience, which is really
useful in the discussions and application.
With his days and nights full (work, school and church) I am a "single mom" but, so far, it's not been to hard (ha- 1 day). Even though the next couple years will be busy, it is going to be worth it. We know that if we are faithful and keep our priorities in check that we will be blessed during this time. We are so excited and I am beyond proud of Ben and this new step in his, and our, lives!
