Our little Princess

Elizabeth is 100% girl and she LOVES princesses!  She had one very warn pink valor jump suit with a tutu that she was wearing as her princess dress; after sewing it many times, we decided to get her some other options.  But, in case you didn't know, princess dresses are expensive!

We found a white Cinderella dress in our hand me downs from cousins.  At a consignment sale I went to I found a Princess Elsa (from Frozen) 'dress' (it is actually pajamas but it is definitely more like a dress) for $7 and then hit the jackpot with finding three other dresses (Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty) for $1 each.  We got 4 princess dresses for $10!! 

ALL the consignment dresses on at once before they were fixed by Nana.

 The Snow White, Cinderella and Sleeping Beauty dresses were in bad shape so we took them to Nana and she fixed them right up.  We now have a lot of options and a happy happy girl!

 

 

 

 

 She has the BEST Prince Charming; what Dad can say he looks THAT good in a tiara.  We both LOVE BEN!

 

National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day

May 15 is National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day!

Elizabeth and I made Chocolate Peanut Butter Chip Cookies (that we took to a baptism the next day).  It is always a fun experience  having a cute toddler helper and she loved the dough,  The cookies turned out pretty good also!!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cute as a Button

One of my dear friends, and neighbor, Kristin is expecting her first baby (a boy) at the end of May.  Rachel and I decided to throw her a baby shower and, even through my emotional disorganized brain (sorry Rachel), we were able to help her celebrate the coming of her little man.  The theme was 'Cute as a Button' and we had a sandwich bar luncheon and some fun games.  It was fun to have lots of people their eager and excited to celebrate with Kristin and we are all excited to meet her little guy (coming any day now)!

Party for Everything

Living in Louisville the past couple of years we have had the opportunity to meet and become close with a lot of families (mostly young married couples like ourselves).  We have 'been with each other' through all our pregnancies and raising our kids, sickness, schooling, job searches, ect. One of those families, the Thevenin's, moved away a couple years ago and was coming back to visit when we decided to have a get together so everyone could see them.  That get together turned into an all around celebration and party for everyone.  Two families bought homes (outside of our ward) and are moving.  Two guys graduated with their doctorates and are moving their families.  Two guys got new jobs. There are 3 expected babies. There were birthdays and anniversaries.

It was fun to get everyone together; our lives have all changed but we are still so close and I hope we can all stay in touch.  It was a sad realization that that would probably be the last time we would all be together but wonderful to look and see the friendships and relationships we had made.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Karma and the BDT Stage

We were able to get last minute seats to go see Forever Plaid at the Boulder Dinner Theater Stage.  I love going to the theater and it was fun to see Forever Plaid; a 'guys group' who die and come back for one final show.  The music was great and it was very entertaining

 

 

Before the show, I went to pick up our babysitter and on the way back to our house we watched a hit and run car accident, no one was hurt.  We pulled over and stayed to talk to the police; the hit has made the license plate fall off of the car that 'ran' so the police officer was able to call that in and they found the address of the car, all before he was done taking our statements- talk about karma.
