Nordy's BBQ

Last weekend we went on a date with our neighbors, Nate and Kristen, to Windsor, CO. Why did we travel an hour to a sad destitute and unknown city? We went to go to Nordy's.  Nordy's is a famous BBQ place and Nate and Kristen sweared it was the best ever. So we went and tried it and I must admit, it was amazing. We shared a family platter which had brisket, smokes turkey, sausage, ribs, pork, beans, coleslaw pasta, french fries and honey corn muffins.  It was AMAZING food; I cannot decide what was best. The atmosphere was fun and the food was better. I would defiantly recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Wall Art

I have doing some craft projects around the house. I decided it would be cute to have a cork board in the craft room above the table. I went to the store and saw that they were very expensive. So I got some cork board liner and stuck it onto cardboard- this obviously didn't really work. Then Ron gave us a cork board that he had just sitting in the garage. So I brought it home, painted the frame and have a new cork board.

After months in our house I decided to make some art for our GIANT empty wall. I found this idea on pinterest and decided to try it. So we got some canvases, paint and I went to work.  I have finished it and am not entirely happy with it but I have decided that I can always take it down and fix it. (I must admit that the wall still looks kind of small- but I am sure we will get used to it.)

I don't like the red one... I will work on it.

SNOW!!!!

I know I post about every storm we have, I can't help it it's exciting, but this one really was amazing. In Louisville we easily had 18 inches, maybe even more, in just two days. It just snowed steady, not too hard, for two days straight- it was beautiful.
Dad found these statistics about it.

When I was shoveling I ran out to the middle of the yard and made a snow angel; then, not having thought the plan through, I was stuck in the snow because it was so deep. I ended up rolling to my knees and...well the angel didn't look great.
My snow...creature!

I wanted to show how deep it was but it just blurred out.  You can kind of see!

That afternoon I sat on our couch watching the snow when I saw the funniest thing. I wrote about it on facebook (although that is very strange I just wanted to share my pleasure with someone) this is what I wrote.
A man is walking with his daughter and her friends in front of our house. The girls have stopped to climb the piles of snow, created from the shoveling, by our driveway. They are pretending they are on top of the world and they are crawling through the snow on their stomachs. The dad keeps checking his watch and telling them it's time to go. I can hear their laughter and giggles from inside. This is soo cute! One of the girls just stepped waist high in the snow and came out without a boot. Dad is currently digging for it... another girl lost a boot- I can not stop laughing. This is better than prime time.
And as my slightly creepy stalking continued- I took a video (it is kind of hard to see because of the window screen). Seriously this does not even start to show how adorable this was.
So, I love the snow. I love the beauty and cleanliness it brings. I love the childlike joy it can bring to our lives.

The Customary and Anticipated Haircut

Every year I let my hair grow long then, after it gets long, thin and drab, I cut it all off.  Every year after cutting it, I regret it.  It doesn't look like I imagined, it makes my face look chubby, I feel like a child or I feel like a 'mom'?  But I still do it.

Here is this years cut- it is a bob with a slight A-line to give it volume.
Curled

Just Blown Dry
I must comment that taking a good picture of yourself is very hard!

Mylie's Baptism

On February 4th, Mylie Rae got baptized.  It is such a wonderful thing to watch children grow up and then decide to take this wonderful step in their lives.  I am so proud of her decision and I am so happy that I was a part of it.

Afterwards we had a wonderful Birthday celebration at Mat and Andi's house.  They are such amazing hosts and always throw great parties. As always it was great to see the Wilson family and share that special day with them.

The kids decorated cookies.
